Today’s ‘Victorian Tea’ was a fabulous event. John, your brother did a fantastic job on the food. Loved the talk about Victorian undergarments. Thank goodness I did not live then. The fashion show presented by ‘La Jolie Juppe’ was much better than the IODE show in April. More wearable clothes… ‘Befriend’ should have more folks checking out their clothes.

Thank you to all the team members for all the hours I know you spent on ensuring that our tea would be a success. Bravo!

What a wonderful day!  The weather was perfect, the food was delicious (and plentiful), the models and clothes divine, the flute music by Margaret Trethewy was enchanting, our master of ceremony, Jim Swan, was lively and entertaining, the presentation on Victorian Secrets was interesting and informative, the models modeling the clothes from La Joli Jupe and Befriend were beautiful, and our volunteers were quite simply terrific.

Our guests checking out the silent auction items.  There was a great deal of interest in many of the 28 items we had on display, raising almost $1,200.
A picture of our guests and the beautiful room.  We had over 75 guests, all of whom had a truly wonderful afternoon.
Thanks to our dedicated group of volunteer waiters, pictured above, our 75+ guests were treated royally.  We were a much more cheerful looking group when we were serving...  .
Plating the food and our waiters waiting patiently to serve our guests.  The food was amazing and included:

One of our guests, Jannalee Anderson, wore her Great Grandmother's pioneer wedding dress from 1909 (105 years ago) who traveled across the United States in a wagon train and help settle Northern California

Our photographers from Photographs for Charity, took some amazing pictures that can be found in our photo album at  http://www.hydeparkrotary.org/PhotoAlbums/2014-victorian-spring-tea or on their website (http://photogsforcharity.webs.com/apps/photos/).

During the tea we ran a powerpoint presentation advertising our sponsors but also showing our club's year in pictures and images from Fanshawe Pioneer Village.  This presentation can be viewed as a PDF document in the file downloads section found on the homepage of this website.
