There was an excellent turnout last Thursday as Mayor-elect Matt Brown spoke to the club and members of the Hyde Park community in only his second public address since being elected on October 27th.  He spoke for 10 minutes about his passion for community service instilled by his grandfather who said "If you want to make a difference, you have to show up!"  He compared this to Rotary's motto of "Service above Self" as we show up to make a difference.  Matt congratulated the club for the successful playground equipment project and how the children in the community were saddened by the loss of the old equipment only to be excited about their new playground.    The presentation was then followed by several questions from the audience before he had to leave to take his son to the dentist.  Family commitments are still an important part of the life of a Mayor.
